Father kills 2-week-old girl, dumps body in garbage in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A man killed his 14-day-old baby girl by slitting her throat near his home in Gulshan Colony in Hyderabad on Thursday.The accused, Jagat, worked as a watchman and lived in Gulshan Colony with his wife and two daughters. Cops suspect Jagat killed his daughter because he did not want another girl.At 2am on Thursday, while his wife and two daughters were asleep, Jagat picked up his younger daughter and took her to an isolated spot near his house.Police said he then slit baby’s throat with a sharpedged weapon. Afterwards, he dumped her body in a garbage heap near Seven Tombs and returned home.Around 5am, Jagat’s wife realised that her baby was missing. She confronted Jagat, who confessed to killing the girl. The accused was taken into custody.
