Memphis Grizzlies fans can breathe a sigh of relief as
Ja Morant is confirmed to play in tonight’s matchup against the
LA Clippers. The two-time All-Star, who missed Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks due to lower back soreness, is no longer listed on the injury report. This news comes as a significant boost for the Grizzlies as they face their conference rivals at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee.
Jo Morant’s absence on Saturday was a matter of concern for both fans and NBA analysts. Initially listed as “doubtful” for the game against the Hawks, he was eventually ruled out just before the match started. His most recent appearance was during the Grizzlies’ commanding 144-93 victory over the Golden State Warriors last Thursday. In that game, Ja Morant left in the third quarter after a hard fall, playing just 17 minutes and contributing nine points before going off the court.

Reflecting on his playstyle and the impact of his injuries, Memphis Grizzlies’
Jo Morant shared his perspective on managing his health going forward.
“Sometimes the foul might get called; I still hit the floor... I just pick and choose, man. Two points is two points. I get it done. That’s all that matters,” he explained. Morant has decided to reduce his in-game dunk attempts to minimize injury risks.
“Sometimes I get knocked out the air and (a foul) don’t get called, and now I’m out longer than what I’m supposed to be,” he added. This statement showed that Morant is aware of the challenges of maintaining his physical condition throughout the demanding NBA season.
The Grizzlies have had to find ways to compensate for Morant’s limited availability this season, with the star guard featuring in only 17 of their 29 games. Despite these challenges, the team remains competitive and looks to capitalize on his return tonight. The game against the Clippers is crucial as the Grizzlies aim to strengthen their position in the Western Conference standings.
