National Genebank in Delhi, the world’s second largest with nearly 5 lakh samples, serves as the country’s repository of agricultural legacy. It protects indigenous crop varieties from the ravages of man and nature. Now, we are taking the first steps to build a second genebank
Think of it as a Noah’s Ark. Only, instead of animals, this is a vault to preserve India’s food diversity — the country’s agricultural produce, the gift of the land.
