This delightful mango hails from Japan's Miyazaki Prefecture, where it was first cultivated through selective breeding in the 20th century and still follows the similar process of breeding, where in the entire process of cultivation is done manually. Interestingly, in Japan, farmers manually pollinate the plants and wrap every mango and protect them from pollutants and bugs by providing a safe environment to maintain the highest quality at all stages. This is the reason why this mango variety is the rare and most expensive one as every stage of its growth is mindfully monitored.

Interestingly, each mango weighs around 350-550 grams, and has a sweet and nutrient dense composition. Apart from that this mango variety also has high sugar content and subtle sweet aromatic fragrance, which makes it a pure luxurious treat.

In 2021, a farmer from Bihar, Surendra Singh brought two saplings of this mango from Japan, and harvested 21 such mangoes in the first year. This success story paved the way for the growth and cultivation of these exotic mangoes and other fruits in India making luxury within the reach of Indians.
