When Ajay Devgn pranked the 'Son of Sardaar' cast with chilli-laden gajar ka halwa
Ajay Devgn, who is stern on the silver screen, has a playful side, which surprises even those closest to him. Vindu Dara Singh, a childhood friend of Ajay, shared an hilarious story from the sets of their film ‘Son of Sardaar’, where Ajay played an epic prank on the cast and crew involving Kajol's "delicious" gajar ka halwa.
Vindu, talking to Siddharth Kanan, recalled the times when they were shooting for ‘Son of Sardaar’ in Patiala. There were some lighter moments, like when Ajay bought a plate saying his wife Kajol had made gajar ka halwa. Whoever would come, he would first offer them the gajar ka halwa, Vindu remembered with a chuckle.

The minute the first person in the group bit into that gajar ka halwa, he got a surprise-which was not the sweet dessert but rather a fiery chili. It really had the crew laughing and Vindu pointed out how Ajay with that cheeky grin on his face would really love to watch the reaction of those crew members getting shocked with spicy gajar ka halwa.
But what added humour to the evening were certain episodes that Vindu relieved from his childhood in front of Ajay. The most memorable among these moments were when the police nabbed them during Holi celebration. Vindu and Ajay had completed college and had resolved to stand by a wine shop on an excuse of having a drink, during Holi festival celebrations. They were driving around in Ajay's jeep, which had swords and hockey sticks inside, items typically used for fight practice by Ajay's father, the legendary action director
Veeru Devgn.

The two friends were picked up and taken to Bandra police station when the police noticed the weapons in the jeep. Vindu and Ajay explained that they were connected with the families of Devgn and Dara Singh but the officers weren't satisfied until they kept mentioning those names. The situation was only settled when a wrestler friend of the Devgn family came to the station and was vouching for them because he was a known face at that time.
Even though Vindu and Ajay were freed at the end of the incident, it is still one of their many treasured memories from their carefree youth.
