Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: Netizens calling it a must watch
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has been the talk of the town right from the start, and now that it has been released, X is flooded with some positive reviews. "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is a cinematic spectacle that masterfully blends laughter, thrills, and emotions, making it a must-watch this Diwali!," read one of the X posts.
“Films are not frequently releasing, and we read about this daily. Now, during Diwali, we have two films coming out that audiences have eagerly waited for a long time. I appreciate their film, and I will be watching it too. I hope you all support our film as well. Both films have a strong chance of succeeding; I don't see it as a competition.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: 'Different genres, so lots to look forward to"
Talking on the big clash, Taran Adarsh told us, "Both the films are opposite in terms of content . One is a horror comedy , the other film is a masala entertainer and both the films worked at the box office. Both the films have strong merits . One hopes and prays that they continue the momentum for the rest of the days. As of now the start is superb."

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: Screen sharing is an issue
Coming back to the clash, with both films releasing on the huge occasion of Diwali, they are currently locked in a huge tussle over screen sharing. The Kartik Aaryan starrer is being distributed by Anil Thadani, who probably is the biggest distributor in the country, while the makers Ajay and Kareena’s film have joined hands with PVR-Inox, who holds the most number of multiplex screens in North India. With no parties willing to budge, despite the film only being 4 days away, the advance booking of the film has not yet begun on a full scale
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: Twist in the tale
Here's another twist in the tale of the big clash this week. No exhibitor would also want to miss out on giving less number of screens to 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' or give more preference to 'Singham Again'. The reason for that being - the distributor for 'BB3' is the same as for 'Pushpa 2'. If 'BB3' is not given enough preference at the moment, it would further affect their negotiations for the big Allu Arjun starrer in the coming months.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: Kartik Aaryan on the big clash
In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Kartik had said, “Yes we have a clash with a big film that has so many stars, and I’m a fan of them. Now both films are coming, and we will have to wait and see the result. I hope both work, and both films releasing is a good thing for the audience, as they have two options to watch . I think the clash was destiny.. I cannot do anything about it.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: 'Keeps you invested'
Our review says, "BB3 keeps you invested, and nowhere does it get tiring but it does have its static phase where the comic punches don’t quite land as much as they should. The story takes a considerable amount of time to build up, but the wait feels rewarding, thanks to a thoughtful twist in the climax. You don’t see it coming at all and the makers succeed in giving a sensible and mature spin to a massy entertainer. The art direction deserves a mention too. The production value is a notch above the previous instalments"
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: Anees Bazmee - 'Don't understand the business aspect of such clashes'
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 director Anees Bazmee says that he is a filmmaker, who does not understand the business aspect of such clashes (with Singham Again). He said, "Har picture ki kundali hoti hai, pehle movies hit bhi hui hai, unka apna naseeb hota hai, mera hisaab kitaab kamzor hai (every movie has its own destiny, and there have been many Diwali hits in the past, but my business acumen is low) Personally, Ajay (Devgn), Rohit (Shetty) are my friends, and I want both the films to do well."
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: 'Keeps you glued'
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: 'Manjulika is back'
Etimes review reads. "Keeping with the theme of the franchise, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 also pits an unassuming cheeky protagonist against a spooky haveli with a buried past. The century-old mansion needs to be restored to its former glory and sold, but Manjulika’s terrorising presence in it forbids the owners from doing so. The royal family in dire need of resources, seeks Rooh baba’s intervention. The fraudster takes up the lucrative offer only to find himself tangled in a mess as he discovers two dark forces who claim to be Manjulika"
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: Slight edge?
This slight edge which 'BB3' has is because it had more days of advance bookings outside national chains, which largely includes single screens. But from the current bookings, it's expected that for single screens, 'Singham Again' only may come out in the lead as it has that more massy appeal. But the slight better advances of 'BB3' may reflect in the day 1 numbers of the movie giving it an edge.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie Review: Anees Bazmee says it is the 'best birthday gift'
"It is the best birthday gift I could ever get. I am truly humbled by the audience love. When asked about the clash with Singham Again, he said, "What clash? Both the films are doing so well, and it is great for the industry only. The more, the merrier!" - Anees Bazmee
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: When Diwali clashes took an ugly turn
Diwali clashes took prominence after Shah Rukh Khan was in the centre of it in 2012, along with Ajay Devgn complained to the CCI (Competition Commission of India ) when his film Son of Sardaar was facing issues with screen allocation during its release on Diwali. The film was in competition with Shah Rukh Khan and Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Devgn accused Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan of not giving his film enough screens. The same also caused a rift between Ajay's wife Kajol, and best friend Karan Johar for many years, before the duo finally decided to bury the hatchet a few years back. This apart, nobody can forget the Kaabil and Raees clash, (2017) where it was more about one upmanship between Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan, however, both films ended up with moderate success at the BO, reinforcing the notion, that the star power apart, it is the audience that truly makes or breaks a film
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: Mixed bag of reviews
Those who flocked to theatres to catch the early morning shows, took to Twitter to share their first and honest reactions of the film directed by Anees Bazmee. Initial reactions to the third instalment of the 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' have been mixed. While some have said that the film is a 'disappointment', others are applauding the film's mix of suspenseful storytelling and well-timed comedy
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: Going back in history
As mentioned ealier, if we turn back pages in history, it has always been a bit of a mixed bag when it came to Bollyood Diwali clashes. In 1998, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Kuch Kuch Hota Hain both released on the same day and did well, though KKHH surpassed BMCH by a huge margin. Before that in 1995, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Yaarana too hit the screens on the same day, but no points for guessing which one turned out to be the winner. In 1996, Raja Hindustani and Ghatak: Lethal too, released a week apart on Diwali, and did well, though the Dharmesh Darshan directed Raja Hindustani went on to become a huge blokbuster. Even Mission Kashmir and Mohabbatein (2000) did well, though the latter, directed by Aditya Chopra raced far, far ahead.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie review: How is the Singham clash affecting both the films?

Both films come with strong franchise backing, a star-studded cast, and considerable brand recognition, making them well-positioned for success."

Madhuri Dixit breaks silence on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 vs Singham Again box office clash
Bollywood is bracing for a major box-office showdown this Diwali as Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the horror-comedy sequel, goes head-to-head with Rohit Shetty's high-octane cop action film Singham Again on November 1, 2024. Madhuri Dixit, who steps into the iconic role of Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, shared her thoughts on the impending clash.
Expressing confidence in the film, Madhuri told Pinkvilla, “It's very hard to predict which film will run or not. But I know that we have made a good product.” Madhuri emphasized that, despite the competition, the success would ultimately lie in the hands of the audience. “But we all have worked very hard. We’ve tried to make a very entertaining film, and right now my hope is, ‘I hope they like it,’” she added.

‘Bhool Bhulaiyaan 3’ star Kartik Aaryan on refusing Paan Masala endorsements
In addition to movies, film stars make a lot of money via brand endorsements. However, many celebrities have said a hard no when it comes to promoting certain commodities. For instance, the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaan 3’ star Kartik Aaryan has a strong stance on not doing ‘paan masala’ endorsements.
On the one hand, where many big names like Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, and more have associated themselves with paan masala brands and have faced criticism from the same, Kartik Aaryan says irrespective of lucrative remunerations he has refused endorsements. “I have refused paan masala ads. They tempted me with a lot of things, but I was never tempted to do that at all," said Kartik Aaryan in his conversation with Siddharth Kannan as he explained his decision.
Along with Kartik, the OG Manjulika of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ Vidya Balan was present at the conversation, and she playfully pointed out how Kartik has no hesitation in doing a condom ad but has restrictions when it comes to paan masala advertisement. “The great thing is, Kartik chose to endorse a health product instead of paan masala," said the actress, leaving Kartik in splits.
'Singham Again' Vs 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' advance bookings box office: The Kartik Aaryan starrer has a slight edge over the Ajay Devgn starrer since its bookings opened earlier
'Singham Again' is set to lock horns with 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' today at the box office. As far as the advance bookings and ticket sales are concerned, it looks like 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' may have an edge over 'Singham Again', as in some centres, the advance bookings opened 2-3 days prior to the Rohit Shetty movie. At the moment, according to trade website Box Office India, both the movies have similar advance sale and are expected to do in the same range. Kartik Aaryan's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' has sold 2.23 lakh tickets so far in the national chains, generating an amount of Rs 7.25 crore.
As far as the All-India advances are concerned, it's made Rs 13 crore nett so far through the advance sales. Meanwhile, 'Singham Again' has sold 2.26 lakh tickets so far in the national chains and made Rs 7.15 crore nett. The All-India advance booking number is Rs 12.50 crore so far. This slight edge which 'BB3' has is because it had more days of advance bookings outside national chains, which largely includes single screens. But from the current bookings, it's expected that for single screens, 'Singham Again' only may come out in the lead as it has that more massy appeal. But the slightly better advances of 'BB3' may reflect in the day 1 numbers of the movie giving it an edge.
'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' title song brought me to Bollywood: Neeraj Shridhar
Singer Neeraj Shridhar says he gave back-to-back hits for films such as "Race", "Love Aaj Kal", and "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani", but it is the title track of "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" to which he owes his success in Bollywood. The singer, also the lead vocalist of Indian pop and rock group Bombay Vikings which was formed in Sweden in the early 1990s, has recreated the popular song for the upcoming film "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3".
Shridhar sang the original song, composed by Pritam and penned by Sameer, for 2007's "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" directed by Priyadarshan.
"When I sang the original, I was not used to singing Bollywood songs a lot. I had sung many songs for films like 'Heyy Babyy'. Then, I did three songs for 'Love Aaj Kal' like 'Chor Bazari', 'Aahun Aahun', and 'Twist'. There was 'Race'. I also sang 'Prem Ki Naiyya' from 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani'...
"But none of the songs had come out when 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' happened. All of a sudden, most of these songs came out around the same time. I owe it to this song ('Bhool Bhulaiyaa'). It brought me to Bollywood," the singer told PTI in an interview.
Shridhar, who has collaborated with American rapper Pitbull and Punjabi singing star Diljit Dosanjh for the "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3" title track, still remembers the first time T-Series head and producer Bhushan Kumar approached him to lend his vocals to the original song.
The singer said just months after he recorded the title song for the 2006 comedy "Bhagam Bhag" for T-Series, Kumar told him that he would get a call from Pritam.
"Pritam also loved my music for Bombay Vikings. We clicked together right from the beginning. I was really excited because by then I had got the knack of singing in front of a lot of people in a studio. Bhushan bhai and Sameer bhai were there; it was like a concert in the studio."
Shridhar said he had to sing the song again because there was "some issue with the audio files".
"It was finally recorded at Pritam's studio. It was one of the first songs to be recorded there."
The singer said he didn't anticipate the "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" title track would go on to become a chartbuster.
Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan extend heartfelt Diwali wishes to fans
The stars of 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3', Kartik Aaryan and Vidya Balan, are in a celebratory mood and this Diwali seems to be a little more special for them as their movie is set to hit the on November 1.
On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, both the actors extended their warm wishes to their fans.
In a conversation with ANI, Kartik Aaryan wished his admirers with a special message, "Wish you a very happy Diwali".
Vidya Balan also shared Diwali greetings and asked her fans to "stay safe".
Kartik Aaryan: 'I have calmed down as an actor, and want to concentrate on one thing at a time'
Kartik Aaryan is all set for the biggest release of his career with Anees Bazmee directed Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which also stars Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit-Nene. Kartik began his career in 2011 with Pyaar Ka Punchnama, but his career trajectory changed with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and since then, he has built a formidable career with films like Luka Chuppi, Pati, Pati Aur Woh, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and more.
The actor was recently in the news about stepping away from Vishal Bharadwaj’s next, which as per reports, is now being done by Shahid Kapoor. When asked about it, in an exclusive interview with ETimes, he said “ Our conversations go on with many people, and a lot of times there is no truth in them and at times they are just rumours, so it is better to not comment on them. What I’m doing right is an Anurag Basu film, and besides that there is a lot of news doing the rounds about what I'm doing and not doing etc."
“ With so much news around…it just shows that people are interested in knowing where I'm going in my career , what is happening in my life , which somewhere down the line means that there is an excitement with the audience and fraternity,” he added. Kartik also shared, "I'm in a space where I want to wait, analyze and then decide what I’m going to do now . Earlier I was doing a lot of things together, now I have calmed down, and want to do less things and concentrate completely on what I'm currently doing.”
'Stree 2' and 'Munjya' to help boost 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' box office success?
This year, horror-comedies "Stree 2" and "Munjya" turned out to be two of the biggest hits at the box office and the makers of "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3" hope to capitalise the audience interest in the genre. Only a few other films, such as Devgn's "Shaitaan" and Kiran Rao's "Lapaataa Ladies" have achieved success at the ticket window in an otherwise dull year that was mostly dominated by re-release of old hits. Some of the movies featuring big names like Devgn's "Maidaan," "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, and Aaryan's "Chandu Champion," failed to click with the audience. Bihar-based exhibitor Vishek Chauhan, however, believes the upcoming box office clash should have been avoided given the industry's recent losses.
"I'm hoping for a miracle where both films succeed. 'Singham Again' is a bigger franchise and likely to perform better. It should attract larger crowds at single screens because of its mass appeal, while in multiplexes and bigger cities, it will be more balanced between 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' and 'Singham Again'," Bihar-based exhibitor Vishek Chauhan told PTI.
Trade analyst Atul Mohan noted that the films could have performed even better without the competition. "'Singham Again' might have reached Rs 50 crore or more, and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' could have achieved Rs 35-40 crore. Both films have the potential to do well if the content is strong, as the next major release, 'Pushpa 2,' isn't until December," he told PTI.
'Singham Again' vs 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3': Exhibitors bet on horror, action this Diwali
With both "Singham Again" and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3" set to clash at the box office on Friday, the exhibitors and trade experts are hoping that these star-studded franchise films will help them recover some of the losses this festive season. Both the films will be showcased in over 6,000 screens in cinemas nationwide during the Diwali weekend. According to exhibitors, "Singham Again", the latest title in Rohit Shetty's cop universe, has an edge as it has secured 60 per cent of the screens, while Kartik Aaryan-starrer "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3" will occupy the remaining 40 per cent. Trade experts predict that "Singham Again" will open in the Rs 40-45 crore range, while "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3" could earn around Rs 20-25 crore. Ashish Kanakia, CEO of MovieMax Cinema, hoped for a robust footfall in theatres. "Both films cater to large, loyal fanbases and bring unique flavours to the screen, which should attract diverse audience segments. We're optimistic this could be a turning point for the exhibition sector, helping recover some of this year's losses. Blockbuster releases around festivals have historically brought audiences back in large numbers, and we expect this trend to continue," Kanakia told PTI.
Ajay Devgn starrer 'Singham Again' and Kartik Aaryan starrer 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' BANNED in Saudi Arabia for THESE reasons
Ajay Devgn starrer 'Singham Again' and Kartik Aaryan starrer 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' have been BANNED in Saudi Arabia for THESE reasons! Ahead of their big Diwali clash, Ajay Devgn starrer 'Singham Again' and Kartik Aaryan starrer 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' have been banned in Saudi Arabia. While the former will not be released there owing to religious conflict, the latter has been banned over homosexual references. According to a report in Pinkvilla, the release of Rohit Shetty's Singham Again has been halted in an Arab nation due to its portrayal of a "religious conflict." The ban reportedly stems from the film's depiction of Hindu-Muslim tensions. The report also stated that Kartik Aaryan’s character in Anees Bazmee's film includes references to homosexuality, leading to its ban by the Saudi government.
Anees Bazmee on Triptii Dimri's role in BB3: She will shock everyone with her role in the film
'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3', directed by Anees Bazmee, is set to hit theaters on November 1, 2024, featuring a stellar cast including Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri. The film promises to deliver a surprising twist, with the director hinting at an impressive performance from the cast, particularly highlighting the chemistry between Aaryan and Dimri. Talking to News 18, Bazmee revealed that while the trailer of the film may suggest one narrative, Triptii's role is actually much more significant and crucial to the story's twists. The director noted that the team initially considered other actors for this part, but casting Dimri turned out to be a brilliant decision. The director noted that they initially considered other actors for the part but found that casting Dimri was a brilliant choice. He stated, "She’s going to shock everyone with her role and performance," indicating that audiences will likely be surprised by the depth of her character.
Kartik Aaryan: 'It feels Vidya Balan and I went to college together!' - Exclusive
When the second instalment of Bhool Bhulaiyaa was being made, producer Bhushan Kumar had approached Vidya Balan to be part of the film, but at that time, she could not accommodate the same. And now, she is back for the third instalment, and will be crossing swords with Kartik Aaryan, this is the first time two of them are coming together.
Talking about her working association with Vidya, in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Kartik said, “ She is someone whose laughter can be heard from far away…she laughs that loudly (laughs). I thoroughly enjoyed working with her, it felt like we went to college together ..she is constantly cracking jokes and I also learnt a lot from her.” In multiple interviews, director Anees Bazmee shared that he shot for two climaxes for the film. And Kartik shared that he knows which of the two climaxes has made it to the film. He said , “ There are so many people involved in a film, and in some way the story would have come out and we wanted to keep it a secret . In fact, even when people would get the script of the film, the last 15 pages would be missing . And there were only 4 to 5 people who knew the exact script.”
‘I have made some of my best films with Akshay Kumar’ says Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 director Anees Bazmee
With Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Anees is getting the original Manjulika, Vidya Balan, back into the franchise. Any plans to get Akshay Kumar back to it too? “Maybe in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 (laughs).” Talking about his urge to work with Akshay, Anees adds, “He is my friend. Maine mere zindagi ki sabse behtareen filmein Akshay ke saath banayi hai (Welcome, Singh Is Kinng). We have a great tuning. Meri icchaa hai ki main unke saath phir se kaam karu, and I think the feeling is mutual.”
Anees Bazmee on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 clash with Singham Again: ‘Agar dono films chali toh Diwali mein double maza aayega’
Addressing the box office clash with another successful franchise, Singham, Anees says, “I am sure both the production houses might have tried their best to avert the clash. But then, due to circumstances, I believe that it wasn’t possible. Agar dono films chali toh Diwali mein double maza aayega.”
Director Anees Bazmee: I don’t believe in following a pattern
Anees, who has been working in this industry for four decades, doesn’t believe in resting on his past laurels. He explains, “I have always believed that there’s no shortcut to anything. I have always believed in learning new things. In showbiz, I have worked in all kinds of departments, be it camera, sound, editing or the art department, yet, I feel like a newcomer, and feel the need to grasp more. New entrants in the industry get inspired by me and I get inspired by them. Maine hameesha mere tareeke ko ahmiyat di hai. If you feel ki iss tareeke se I can convey my message in a film better, then I stick to that. Every filmmaker has their own style. I don’t believe in following a pattern, I believe in working in that moment.”
Director Anees Bazmee: I wanted to crack the perfect plot for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
Back in 2022, when Anees Bazmee helmed the horror comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, little did he know that he would be taking the franchise ahead instantly after its release. The film’s success led to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which releases this Friday. The filmmaker says that the movie is packed with an exciting storyline, Kartik Aaryan’s exuberant performance and ghostly acts by two Manjulikas, played by Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit. ‘For me, that one-line story is very important’ Talking about the film, Anees tells us, “Bhushan Kumar (producer) was very confident even before part 2 was released and he told me that we should begin working on part 3. Kartik Aaryan, too, was looking forward to the sequel. I was excited with the idea, but I wanted to crack the perfect plot for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. I am not the kind who simply jumps onto the bandwagon…ek film achchi bani toh chalo dusri banate hai to capitalise on the film’s title. I am a writer first and then a director, so that one line story is very important for me. In the final story, I could see scope for a lot of drama, emotions and comedy and I could visualise shooting it on a larger-than-life scale.”
I was scared, says Vidya Balan on rejecting 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2'
Actor Vidya Balan says she rejected the offer to star in "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" as she feared that if she didn't perform well in the sequel, it would ruin the impact of her work in the original movie. Balan starred alongside Akshay Kumar in Priyadarshan's 2007 hit "Bhool Bhulaiyaa", playing the role of Avni/Manjulika. Fifteen years later, its sequel, "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2", directed by Anees Bazmee and starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead, was released and became a huge blockbuster at the box office. "I was so scared because 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' has given me so much. So I said, if I did something wrong, then everything will go in vain (sab par paani fir jayega). I told Anees ji that 'I can't take this risk,'" Balan told reporters. "But when they came back to me with the third part, I loved the script. I was dying to work on this with Anees bhai and Bhushan. And then it only kept getting better," Balan said.
The actor said she liked what the team did with the sequel, which helped her make the decision to say yes to "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3", set to release on Diwali, November 1. "And then the icing on the cake was working with Madhuri Dixit ma'am. So, I think it only kept getting better, and I accumulated the courage. I had a great time. He (Bazmee) is the king of entertainment. I had the opportunity to work with him," she added.
