Ranbir Kapoor-starrer 'Ramayana', helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, is one of the most awaited movies in Bollywood right now. In a recent update, the makers are set to release a short title announcement video soon.
According to Pinkvilla, the short video has received a green signal from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The title announcement video has been granted a ‘U’ certificate by the CBFC’s Mumbai Regional Office today (May 5). The video is 2 minutes and 36 seconds in duration. Although the title video has not yet been made public, this behind-the-scenes progress has intensified the buzz surrounding the film.
'Ramayana' will unfold in two parts, with Part 1 slated for a Diwali 2026 release and Part 2 expected during Diwali 2027. Drawing from ancient Indian scripture, the film promises to be a visually immersive spectacle.
Announcement in 2024
Back in November 2024, Malhotra shared an update on Instagram during the official announcement: “More than a decade ago, I embarked on a noble quest to bring this epic that has ruled billions of hearts for over 5,000 years to the big screen. And today, I am thrilled to see it taking shape beautifully… Join us as we fulfil our dream of bringing our greatest epic to life with pride and reverence.”

Though the production team has not revealed the official cast, numerous reports and on-set photos strongly suggest Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.
In an earlier interaction with The Hollywood Reporter India, Yash confirmed his involvement as a co-producer and described Ravana as one of the “most fascinating” characters he could portray.
