MONSTA X’s Hyungwon, who had enlisted in the military’s Army Band, is all set to be officially discharged today, on May 13. The idol enlisted in November 2023 and will be released after completing one year and six months in military service.
Hyungwon to return ahead of the group’s anniversary
MONSTA X’s Hyungwon is going to be returning from his mandatory military service today on May 13, ahead of the group’s official 10th anniversary event, according to Allkpop. What makes his discharge even more special is the fact that he is leaving the military only a day before the group’s anniversary, which fortunately falls on May 14. Fans are looking forward to the official reunion of all six members as well.
MONSTA X all set to launch digital album for 10th anniversary
The group, to commemorate and celebrate their 10th anniversary, will be releasing a digital album titled ‘NOW PROJECT vol.1’. The album is said to contain around 10 tracks in total. It will include both title songs and B-side tracks in the album. It consists of music that MONSTA X has released as a group between the years 2021 and 2023 so far.
The album is going to feature new song versions that include the vocals and raps from all six present members of the group. The album is being released to mark a new beginning for the group and also for celebrating the auspicious event with Monbebes (MONSTA X fans).
All of the songs are being rereleased, and a new version is being shared with the public in order to showcase every member’s talent, especially due to the fact that, due to scheduling conflicts and military service, many songs have some or the other member completely missing from the track.
Hyungwon is also the fifth member to complete his military service after Shownu, Minhyuk, Jooheon, and Kihyun, while their maknae (youngest member), I.M., is yet to start his service in the military.
