The fantasy thriller 'KA', directed by the brothers Sujith and Sandeep, has emerged as a major success film critically and commercially. Recently, 'KA' won the Best Film Award at the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival 2025.
The online streaming platform where the film is available to watch shared the news through their social media handle on X (formerly Twitter). The film was made on a modest budget of Rs 10 crore as per an OTTPlay report, and went on to gross over Rs 53 crore worldwide, marking the highest box office collection in Kiran Abbavaram's career.
'KA' takes place in the mysterious mountain village of Krishnagiri, where Vasudev, played by Kiran Abbavaram, works as a postman. Orphaned and raised in an orphanage, Vasudev has always been fascinated by letters and the stories they carry. His quiet life takes a dark turn when girls in the village start disappearing. When his love interest, Satyabhama, is targeted, Vasudev steps in to investigate, uncovering shocking secrets hidden beneath the village’s serene surface.
The film opens with a tense scene where a masked man interrogates Vasudev using a hypnotic clock to unlock buried memories, setting the tone for a slow-burning mystery that keeps audiences hooked until its rewarding climax.
After its theatrical run, 'KA' was released for streaming on ETV Win from November 28, 2024.
