After a long break due to his political commitments, actor-turned-politician
Pawan Kalyan has resumed shooting for his much-awaited film 'They Call Him OG' or simply 'OG'. Since taking office as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in June 2024, Pawan Kalyan has focused on his governmental duties. Now, the shoot for OG is back in full swing, with filming currently underway in Hyderabad.
The production house recently shared a behind-the-scenes update on social media. The makers wrote, "The #OG steps into his arena. #PKBackOnOGSets". The hashtag suggests Pawan Kalyan is on the 'OG' sets.
The upcoming schedule will see the team shooting in multiple locations, including Hyderabad, Tadepalle, and Mumbai. As per a 123Telugu report, a key highlight of this phase will be the intense face-off scenes between Pawan Kalyan’s character and the antagonist played by
Emraan Hashmi, who is making his Telugu debut with this film. Pawan Kalyan’s portions are expected to be completed by the second week of June, as the makers aim for a theatrical release in September 2025.
Directed by
Sujeeth, the film revolves around Ojas Gambheera, aka OG, a ruthless don who returns to Mumbai after a decade-long disappearance to confront a rival crime boss, played by Emraan Hashmi.
The film also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead, with a strong supporting cast including Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, Prakash Raj, and
Harish Uthaman.
Recently, Pawan Kalyan has also completed work on 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu', temporarily putting the film on hold. However, now he has resumed the 'OG' shoot.
The film had initially started shooting in early 2023 but was paused due to Pawan Kalyan’s active participation in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections and his subsequent appointment as Deputy Chief Minister.
