Allu Arjun is one of the biggest stars and is known for his impeccable acting, stylish persona, and controversy-free career. However, back in 2014, the actor found himself embroiled in a rare controversy involving an alleged drunk driving incident.
The controversy unfolded one night in Hyderabad when Allu Arjun was reportedly stopped by police during a routine drunk driving check. The officers requested he take a breathalyzer test. A video soon surfaced online showing the actor allegedly arguing with the police and refusing to take the test. The footage went viral, leading to severe backlash against the actor. Critics accused him of resisting law enforcement and setting a poor example as a public figure.
Later, Allu Arjun addressed the incident on his official Facebook page to clarify what had happened. He explained that while he did initially hesitate to take the test, it was because he felt uncomfortable with cameras pointed at him during the process. He stated that once the cameras were removed, he cooperated fully with the police, took the test, and was allowed to go.
The actor also expressed his displeasure over how the video was edited and circulated online. His post also read, "And I don’t think Hyderabad police will leave anyone caught drunk driving without proper action. The video is being circulated without this part. So stop this negative propaganda. Even if I have a few drinks, I always walk back or ask someone to drop me off or take a taxi or an auto. It’s very disrespectful to see one of the media groups leak the video and have it edited in such a wrong pattern."
Allu Arjun recently delivered the blockbuster 'Pushpa 2: The Rule,' raking in over Rs 1,200 crore domestically and nearing Rs 1,850 crore globally as of its sixth week.
