While Ben Roethlisberger dominated the NFL, his sister Carlee excelled in basketball and volleyball. A First-Team All-Ohio selection in both sports at Findlay High School, Carlee amassed 1,625 basketball points and led her team to a state tournament. She also played 139 games for the Oklahoma Sooners in college basketball.

Roethlisberger’s sister, Carlee, shared with The Blade that she would play basketball in the driveway with her brother, Ben when they were kids. Before completely focusing on basketball and volleyball, Carlee played soccer and participated in swimming up until middle school. There’s more to her than these four sports! Let’s find out.

In the basketball world of Findlay High School, Carlee Roethlisberger accumulated 1,625 points (534 in one season) and 199 career steals. In 2007, Roethlisberger led her USC Trojans Women’s Basketball Team to the state-level tournament. In the volleyball world of Findlay High School, Carlee averaged 3.7 kills per set and accumulated 90 blocks as a senior. Roethlisberger was named First-Team All-Ohio selection for basketball and volleyball at Findlay High School.

Back in 2011, Carlee shared about her experience at FHS with Fox Sports, “The biggest thing I learned at OU is that it’s not what everybody else thinks that matters. It’s what you believe in as a team, as yourselves, and as a program that you know that you can accomplish because you know when people believing in us, the media is believing in us hasn’t gotten too far on the floor.”

Ben Roethlisberger’s sister Carlee played 139 games for the Oklahoma Sooners College Football at NCAA - third highest for the Oklahoma Sooners. She accumulated 427 points, 106 offensive rebounds per game, 192 defensive rebounds per game, 298 rebounds per game, 76 assists per game, 50 steals per game, 22 blocks per game, 118 turnovers per game, 139-377 field goals made-attempted per game, 36.9 field goal percentage, and 179 fouls per game in the season totals for 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.

In March 2010, when Carlee was playing for the Oklahoma Sooners, her brother, Ben Roethlisberger, was accused of sexual assault by a 20-year-old college student. The college student, Georgia claimed Ben sexually assaulted her in the bathroom stall of a nightclub. A Nevada woman by the name Andrea McNulty filed a civil suit alleging the same accusation against Big Ben in 2008. Carlee talked about her brother Ben with The Oklahoman, “There’s only so much you can do. I can’t let it get to me emotionally. I have a team, my second family. If there’s something I need to know, my brother or parents let me know. We just keep in touch to know he’s okay. From there, it’s school and basketball.”

As per the official website of Ben Roethlisberger(BigBig7), Carlee Roethlisberger is currently pursuing the AVP(Association of Volleyball Professionals) tour. According to the Beach Volleyball Database website, she last played for the 2017 AVP Pro Beach Tour. In 2017, both Ben and Carlee Roethlisberger received the Hancock County Sports Hall of Fame.
