The Toronto Maple Leafs have suffered enough at the clenched clutches of the Florida Panthers. The Panthers did not let the Maple Leafs score even a single goal and tied the series. Everybody is worried about the Maple Leafs’ captain, Auston Matthews.Matthews is unable to score a goal. Amidst all these doubts, Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube talked about Auston Matthews’ lack of goal-scoring with the Toronto Sun on May 12, “The big goal is coming, that’s the way (he has) to think about it. Who knows when it will happen, but just focus on playing the game. I get the pucks not going in for him, but he’s doing a lot of good things for us, killing penalties, going against other top lines, checking, working, and competing. I’m not overly worried about him.”

Auston Matthews is at 10 points in 10 postseason games

On May 13, Stephen Nixon, Editor in Leaf, shared, “With over 400 career goals in only 629 games, (Auston)Matthews is arguably the only player who has a chance to beat Alex Ovechkin’s career goal record, but when it comes to the playoffs, he’s scoring at essentially the same level as Nazem Kadri. If you just look at this stat line, you would see that Matthews has 10 points in 10 games, which you could brush off and say, “That’s fine.” A point-per-game player is still really good, right? Wrong. For an elite talent, Matthews should be averaging well past a point per game and should have way more than two goals by now.”

Craig Berube hints at potential lineup changes for Game 5 against the ruthless Florida Panthers

We will look at a couple of different options for what is best for the team. We have a couple of days to think about it and see if we feel that it is a better option.”X users reacted to it with varying amounts of expectations.“Our captain needs to score plain and simple”“Bench Matthews. Totally useless.”“Line up changes are a must this team is sh*t it needs new life!”“Sit matthews and Marner, put in guys who care 🙃 the two stars are back to same old tricks again. Maybe in a way it’s better if we lose this series as we blow this all up and bring in guys who know how to win pressure games”“Want to see these new lines for game 5Knies Matthews HolmbergPacioretty Tavares NylanderRobertson Laughton MarnerLorentz Kampf McMann”Also read: Chilling details of the 2018 Hockey Canada sexual assault scandal emerge as the complainant takes the stand - The Times of India
